100 word challenge

At the start line I was swimming in nerves, my feet and hands were trembling out of control.

When we started I tried to get in the front so I didn’t have to pass many people.

The first lap was really easy, then it got harder and harder as each daunting lap went by.

Everyone was cheering us on which gave me a nice feeling inside to keep going.

On the third lap the mud was really squelching under my feet. Right at the finish I sprinted really hard at the end.

I came 6th in the end

I just love running up and down my hall and sliding on a blanket at the end.

My mum always told me that I was just fooling around and that someday I was going to get hurt. I knew that that was never going to happen.

But I just kept doing it and doing it and doing it, and besides I always got my timing right. I would never go too far, never fall short.

But of course it’s not always a happy ending. Suddenly I hit the wall and the red spot on my leg grew bigger and bigger.
